Nepal Airlines Corporation faces a close call

Kathmandu, 22 July (Dainikee)

Aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation has suffered from hydraulic failure while landing at Tribhuwan International Airport. A Boeing 9N ACA aircraft coming from New Delhi to Kathmandu had to make an emergency landing after the detection of hydraulic failure was detected during landing stage.

A hydraulic failure could lead to brake failure, steering failure and the plane could land on the wrong spot on the runway. This could also mean failure in extraction of aircraft's wheel at landing. Understanding these consequences, however all passengers are reported to be safe. The plane was said to face only left side hydraulic control system failure and not a complete one.

The plane landed safely at 4:30 pm with a total of 47 people, including 35 passengers and 12 crew members.
