Longest Solar Eclipse of 21st century.
Lasted for 6 minutes and 39 seconds.
Kathmandu, 22 July (Dainikee)
Darkness fell across parts of China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal and India on Wednesday morning as a total solar eclipse passed across the world's most populous countries, bringing crowds of people outside to watch the phenomenon.
This solar eclipse is the longest of the 21st century, as it lasted for 6 minutes, 39 seconds. For the very reason, a group of astrologers headed out for Phikkal to study about the eclipse. As most of these parts were cloudy, it was seen from only few places. Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal visited Khumaltar to view this eclipse.
In Nepal the eclipse started from 5.46 am and ended on 7.48 am. People gathered at Bagmati River for taking holy baths.
