NEPSE started with a downfall this week as the first day of this week's transaction went down by 0.68 points. The NEPSE index closed at 485.82 last week as it fell to 485.14 points on Sunday.

NRB still looking forward to Cabinet´s decision

The government had to appoint a new governor for the Nepal Rastra Bank whose seat has remain vacant for the past three weeks after the retirement of the ex-governor Bijaya Nath Khanal last month. The government should have finalized the name of a new governor one month before the ongoing governor retires as per the NRB Act.

Nepal Chambers of Commerce serious about security issues

The murder of entrepreneur Jamin Shah that occurred on February 7 at Lazimpat has been protested by Nepal Chambers of Commerce. Jamim Shah, the president of Space time Network and managing director of Channel Nepal was murdered on broad daylight by some unknown gunmen.

India to provide 30 MW additional power to Nepal
Kathmandu (PTI)
India has decided to provide an additional 30 MW of power to Nepal, which is expected to relieve the country of its on-going electricity crisis, affecting its people and industry.
The decision is in connection with Nepalese government's request made in April. Nepal at that time was facing an acute power shortage with up to 18 hours daily load shedding, Indian Embassy sources said.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector needs a regulatory body. Though there is an electronic regulatory act for the Internet Protocol (IP) sector, for proper authentication it is in need of a regulatory body.
In the absence of a regulatory body for IPs, electronic services are prone to the chances of Internet hacking and Internet virus.

Handicrafts shipped to around 80 countries

Nepali handicraft goods saw an export hike of 17 percent in the first nine months of ongoing fiscal year. Weakening of Nepali currency is the reason behind this growth, noted exporters.

Nepals Development Hampered by Instability, Poor Infrastructure

Nepal’s efforts to accelerate economic growth and reduce poverty are being hampered by political instability, poor infrastructure, and other critical obstacles, a new study has found.
The study, Nepal: Critical Development Constraints, is a collaborative effort by Asian Development Bank (ADB), UK Department for International Development (DFID) and International Labour Organization (ILO).
