  • U.S. Assistant Secretary of State visits Nepal

    Kathmandu, 12 June(Dainikee)

    The United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake arrived in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Friday on a two-day official visit to Nepal.

    During his visit, Blake will meet with President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala, and opposition leader and former Prime Minister Prachanda.

  • Nepal´s first woman deputy PM passes away

    Kathmandu, 12 June (Dainikee)

    Former Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress leader Shailaja Acharya, 67, passed away at around 4.25 on Friday morning early on Friday after a long battle with Alzheimer's and pneumonia.
    The 67-year-old, who came from one of the most politically active families of Nepal, had been admitted to the Teaching Hospital here on Wednesday after receiving treatment earlier in New Delhi and Bangkok.

    Seven people are injured in Birjunj after clash between two groups of Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum .
    The central committee meeting of Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum’s is underway in Birgunj. The meeting is called by Upedra Yadav.

  • U.N. Envoy Arrives In Nepal

    A top United Nations envoy arrived here Tuesday for a six-day visit.
    During the visit, Samuel Tamrat, director for Asia and the Pacific in the Department of Political Affairs, will meet with key politicians to discuss the ongoing peace process, army integration and extension of the U.N. Mission in Nepal.
